Brand History - Bigelli Marmi

History

It was back in 1959 when Dino Bigelli, less than twenty years old at the time, formed his company in Senigallia, a land with a long history of stone working. Between 600 and 700 blocks of Orsera stone were brought to Senigallia from Istria for use in the construction of the monumental Ercolani porticos, location of the annual “Free Fair” in which goods from all around the Mediterranean were traded free of duty.
Dino Bigelli started his new business “from nothing”, as he is rightly proud to affirm. Over the years the company has demonstrated a unique ability to keep pace with changes in the market, personal tastes and lifestyles while maintaining focus on its core business: the artisan transformation of marble into solutions that interpret each customer’s personality and tastes.
As a company, Bigelli marmi has deep roots in the local area, and has lived through many years of social and economic change from the 1950s to the present day.

Italy is the only country in the world that can boast an ancient tradition in stone working supported by deep historical and artistic roots, centuries of experience in extraction, quarries all over the country, technical leadership in quarrying and processing machinery and a labour force of unrivalled expertise.
